I started playing live poker seriously about 12 years ago. I first played $1-3 stud until I realized the poker table was a vacuum. The house was sucking up everybody's chips from the rake and nobody was winning. I stepped up to $4-8 and $6-12 until I started winning consistently and then proceeded to the $20-40, $40-80, and $60-120 limits.
This blog is strictly about tournament poker. Tournament poker strategy and cash game strategy differ. Very often, excellent cash game players do not make good tournament players and vice versa.
My past online poker life was on Party Poker for most of 2006 until Party Poker stopped accepting players after passage of the UIGA by the U.S. government in 2006. After 2006, many poker sites believed that the true interpretation of the law defined online poker as a legal activity and continued to accept players from the U.S. That is when I started playing poker on Full Tilt.
Unfortunately, on April 15th, 2011, Black Friday occurred and the U.S. government shut down the 3 major U.S. poker sites.
In the past, people have studied poker strategy through books and videos. Although there are excellent books and videos, they do not allow for open discussion of topics for greater learning.
I have created this website, and more importantly this blog, to create questions, comments, answers, and discussions for people (like myself) who take poker seriously and want to be the best.
I have been hesitant for years to share my thoughts on tournament strategy, but I am betting that my poker game can only improve through discussions on these blogs. I am open and honest here with all of my thoughts on how to win at poker tournaments.
Thank you for visiting. I hope your game improves through thought sharing on tournament strategy on my blogs, and I look forward to learning from you and other visitors through the blog.

Poker is like golf. Lessons do not necessarily make you better at the game. In either game, if you are taught by a bad player, it will result in a poor outcome for you.
